Outdoor Adventures

Guest author E. a 4th grader, shares her perspective on outdoor time.

On our walks we have amazing adventures. It's fun to run around in nature with your friends. I love playing games and just having fun. There’s never a time that I don't want to go on a walk.

We encounter some amazing creatures on our walks. Some of the most common ones are frogs, caterpillars, and birds. We sometimes see tracks of beavers, herons, and raccoons. It’s fun to encounter these animals.

One day we were on a walk and decided to take a new path. It led us to this amazing grove of oaks, just beautiful tall trees stretching up into the sky… It was so pretty with vibrant leaves coating the forest floor. Their top branches interlocked, forming a spider web of bare branches.

This is some unique frost that we found in the yard before going on a walk. The frost formed as water was drawn out of a dead stick as it was freezing.

We were being stalked by this little cat on a walk . It was so cute and incredibly friendly! I believe it loves children because it was very gentle and it followed us for the entire walk until we got to the building.
