The Double Creek families met up at Plumper Pumpkin Patch for some fall fun. We visited the animals, took a hayride and explored their great play areas.
Just some friends hanging out on a "cow"ch before taking on the corn maze.
The goats were very friendly. Fortunately, they didn't eat the beautiful pumpkin hat.
Each person got to pick a sugar pumpkin to take home. We hear some became tasty pies! Before our trip, the kids counted out coins and figured out 10 ways to pay exact change for the gourds they each chose (and then we paid with a card, because that'd be a lot of counting for the cashier).
Literary inspired costumes are a lot of fun. We had Caroline Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie, Waldo of Where's Waldo? fame, and this beautiful dritten (dragon/kitten) from Upside Down Magic.
A few days later, "Farmer" Olivia came and told us all about how she grew Liza, who weighed in just shy of 700lbs! Olivia is amazing and answered so many great pumpkin questions. She gave each student a few seeds so they can try growing their own giant pumpkins in the spring. Thanks you for coming to see us Olivia!
Of course, no October is complete without a Halloween party! The kids showed off their rainbow of costumes while enjoying Halloween themed lessons.
